Your wedding day experience comes first. I bring a calm and unobtrusive approach that lets my clients feel comfortable being themselves in front of my camera, celebrating intimate moments as you would if you were alone. This way, we'll capture photographs you connect with naturally.
I won't ask you to re-enact cliche wedding day traditions for me. Instead, you be you, and I'll capture that.
During our portrait session, rather than posing you, I'll set the scene and gently guide you with direction. I want to leave room for you to be yourselves; I want you to feel like you fit in the portraits we are creating together.
Every couple is different; some can't stop laughing, some are profoundly sentimental and quiet. As for what your love looks like, I have no expectations. When you look back on photos from the day, I want to ensure you recognize it, not see how it is "supposed" to look. Instead, I want to capture your genuine personalities and the honest moments that make you the couple you are on your wedding day. And I want to make it all look beautiful and elegant, pieces of emotion strung together by timeless images.
Ultimately, the images I capture are for you. They are to become pieces of your story....your visual heritage.

Yes! Whether you are getting married in Vail or Beaver Creek, you won't have to stress about traveling over mountain passes, travel expenses, or my familiarity with the area or venue. I've got you.
We live a few miles down the road in Avon. My daily walk with my dogs has a beautiful view of the Ritz in Bachelor Gulch and Beaver Creek Mountain. I've lived in the valley year-round since 2003. My wife and I took a moment to live in Seattle, but after having our son, we found our way back to Vail for the mountain lifestyle and lifelong friendships.
I'll take "real" over "perfect" any day. The look when your partner walks down the aisle, a hug from a grandfather who made it to your big day, your reaction when you finally see each other for the first time, the simple touch of your best friend’s hands. I consider myself a visual storyteller by capturing images that make you feel. Your wedding images should take you right back to that moment in time and help you remember the small details. In my 15 years of doing this, I've learned the more you let go of expectations, the more honest your images will become, the stronger you will connect with them.
Black and white photography has a special place in my heart. I love seeing the moment of a photograph stripped-down to the light and composition. I only deliver about 10% of your photographs in black and white. The other 90% are processed in a classic color palette that will weather the trends.
I deliver about 800-1000 (depending on the size & production of the wedding) fully edited photographs are delivered via an online gallery for you to share with friends and family, order products, and download your images for safekeeping.
